Biography

Dr. Leslie Appiah a board certified obstetrician gynecologist with fellowship training in pediatric and adolescent gynecology and expertise in oncofertility. She is an associate professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine and Kentucky Children’s Hospital in Lexington, KY and serve as chief of the division of gynecologic subspecialties, director of oncofertility and director of pediatric and adolescent gynecology. She received her medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, TX and completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Sinai Hospital Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. she subsequently completed a Building Interdisciplinary Research Careers in Women’s Health (BIRCWH) research fellowship in reproductive genetics at Baylor College of Medicine and a clinical fellowship in pediatric and adolescent gynecology at Texas Children’s Hospital, Houston, TX. As director, she collaborates with oncologists and reproductive specialists to provide fertility preservation services and comprehensive reproductive care to patients with cancer diagnoses and chronic medical conditions requiring gonadotoxic agents.  She is also the co-chair of the Pediatric Initiative Network of the Oncofertility Consortium National Physicians Cooperative.
